Appointments

The reception staff are available between 08:00 and 18:30 to make your appointments by telephone or in person. 

You can also book online via this link if you already have an online account. If all you need is access to our appointment system click this link to register now without the need to visit the surgery. If you would also like access to our prescription ordering service you will need to register for this service and can download the relevant form here. Before registering for online services there are some important issues to consider - Please see practice leaflet.

You can also See a GP by video with LIVI.
This practice now offers a video GP service – LIVI – to all our patients.
To access the service, simply download LIVI from the App store
(iphone) or Google Play (Android), and sign up. You can get medical
advice, prescriptions and referrals by video, with appointments
available on the same day, even at weekends.

You can request an appointment with the doctor of your choice, but you may have to wait slightly longer if that GP is already fully booked. If you need to be seen that day for a medically urgent problem, make this clear to the reception staff, but be prepared to see other than your usual doctor. You may consult any of the doctors who cover for each other if your usual doctor is not available.

Routine appointments are available to book up to 4 weeks in advance.  The majority of routine appointments are book on the day to ensure immediate availability. 

Telephone the surgery at 08:00 for morning and afternoon availability.

In the case of urgent appointments for new problems occurring on that day the duty doctor is always available, telephone message can be left for duty doctor who will be able to triage the call and decide if you need to be seen immediately or as a routine.

Emergencies

Medical emergencies will be dealt with as soon as possible. Always use the surgery number 0121 203 3000, 24 hours a day. If you ring when the surgery is closed, CALL the NHS help line on 111.

Consultations are of 10 minutes duration. If you need a longer appointment, please advise the receptionist at the time of booking. Always arrive on time for your appointment. Please remember a separate appointment is necessary for each member of the family wishing to see a doctor or nurse. Children under 16 years should be accompanied by an adult.

Medical Education

We may also teach medical students and sometimes you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. You will always be asked beforehand if this is acceptable and you may ask for the student to withdraw if you prefer to have your consultation in private.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. 

Be aware that 500 clinician appointments a month are lost due to patients not cancelling unwanted appointments.  If a patient fails to attend their pre-booked appointments it may result in their removal from the practice. 

DNA Policy:

If you DNA your appointment , you will not be able to book any routine appointments for the next 4 weeks, you will be able to book URGENT only via Duty GP.

This is to prevent misuse of valuable clinician appointments.
